LUCON® 8C-60A

High power light controller for machine vision with up to 60A

The LUCON® 8C-60A light controller has eight constant to deliver 60A output power with 100 mA accuracy per channel - completely independently for each channel. This allows any type of LED lighting to be supported, regardless of whether it has a series resistor or not.

Due to the max. current of up to 60A per channel, previously not possible short exposure times are now easy to implement. This means that even ultra-fast objects can be captured and inspected with pin-sharp clarity. The configuration is done conveniently via a graphical web interface, directly on the device.

Description

Based on our successful modular light controllers LUCON® and LUCON 2® and with more than 10 years of experience in light controllers, we have developed a new generation of high power controller: LUCON® 8C-60A. It is mainly intended for use in industrial image processing applications. In order to achieve the best results with LED lighting (key point: brightness stability as well as reproducibility), it’s important to supply the lighting with a constant current. Therefore, each channel of the LUCON® 8C-60A features an adjustable constant current source.

Despite its compact design, each of the eight channels of the LUCON® 8C-60A has an independent constant current source. This makes LUCON® 8C-60A compatible with almost any available LED lighting: with or without integrated series resistor. Each channel supports currents of up to 60A, which makes it possible to overdrive the connected lighting. This enables even shorter exposure times and thus faster cycle times.

Flexibility by design

Eight independent trigger inputs, eight independent trigger outputs and eight independent lighting outputs. And all of them are completely freely combinable and configurable. A signal at trigger input 1 should switch on all eight lights? No problem. Trigger input 1 should only switch on lighting 1 and additionally trigger output 1 should be activated? That is also no problem. Likewise, a single lighting output can be controlled by different trigger inputs. Both the trigger inputs and trigger outputs are optically isolated. This provides even greater flexibility.

By separating the supply voltage for the logic and the lighting, even greater flexibility is achieved. This supports a lighting voltage of up to 60VDC and a logic voltage between 12VDC and 24VDC.

Easy and quick configuration

Do you prefer a graphical user interface or command-based communication for configuration? With LUCON® 8C-60A you get both! For command-based communication an ethernet interface with UDP protocol are available. The graphical user interface only requires an ethernet connection and an internet browser - the built-in webserver eliminates the need for further software.

Various operating modes for every application

Every application has its own requirements. That is why the LUCON® 8C-60A light controllers support two operating modes: Pulse (the lighting is controlled for a set time with an adjustable current) and Switch (the lighting is operated for the set current as long as a trigger signal is present). The LUCON® 8C-60A light controllers has eight trigger inputs and eight trigger outputs. All of them are optically isolated to provide the greatest possible flexibility.
